Good. Maybe the league is actually going to take a systemic problem seriously this time. - BINGO!

Gotta wonder if Bettman's threat of severe consequences made the Stars do this.
Also curious if it relates at all to why Honka refused to come back to Dallas. |

Lebrun is reporting the league was aware of the situation with Montgomery prior to yesterday's announcement, so.... nope. |

Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
now
I’m told the NHL was aware of the situation with Jim Montgomery even before Gary Bettman met the media here last night to announce the league’s 4-point plan, but that Montgomery’s dismissal does not fall under the auspices of that plan. Not related to it apparently.

That would be the one thing that attracts the attention of the clubs and league. All other things seem to have a program people can disappear into and even these allegations of past players saying someone yelled at me or spit on me wouldn't rise to this level (I don't think) |

I have a feeling GMs might play scared right now with the term punishment but really not as if I am excusing it but things of this nature have been on so long they became status quo and no one said anything. I don't think its just a one time occurrence any type of hockey. Basketball and football are probably huge under this umbrella. |
